Manipur incident once again raise questions on women safety? 

Our country somehow has to face the question, Is a woman really safe in this cruel world? This is not a matter of concern about how a woman can save herself, but what is bothering is that whether it is day or night, a woman can't feel safe in her own surroundings. How can a woman be paraded naked and raped in the daylight? How is she supposed to defend herself when a group is involved in such malpractices? May be our country has forgotten the old tradition of respecting women, or there is a need to remind us of how women were treated in ancient times.

What Was The Reason Behind Such Act? 

No reason can actually justified this act. It is reported in the news that the reason behind this condemned action is cultural differences between two villages in Manipur, and an armed mob attacked a Village in the Kangopki district of Manipur. Innumerable houses were looted. And saveral women were raped. There were many women who were raped and killed. On the same day, some perpetrators shot video of two naked women who were paraded naked, and one of them was raped by the mob. It was reported that 9000–10000 mobs had dangerous weapons.

What was the issue?

 

There was tension between kukis who were demanding official tribal status from meiteis. This tribal status would help the Kukis tribe influence the government and allow the Kuki tribe to buy land in the Kuki area. A war waged by the Métis led the government to uproot their communities. This tension is based more on ethnicity than religion.

 

The government of Manipur is led by N. Boren Sigh, and at the time of the protest, no actions had taken place. No police deployment was arranged. It is also assumed that the police were aware of such a vast tragedy, but their non-responsive actions are also condemned.

 

This incident brings many questions into the limelight, including why the safeguards of the public, mainly the police and government, were silent for a few days.

Why wasn't this news represented through the news channels? Why were only women targeted so brutally? This is not the case of Manipur; this case raises the question of the dignity of every woman.

India's honourable prime minister broke his silence recently after the May 4 tragedy. This day is a red day for me because it kills the dignity of women.

 

People are protesting nationwide and seeking justice for Manipur women. There were many women who were raped and killed, and this protest is seeking justice for them. This time, justice is not about the life imprisonment of culprits but a justice in which all administrations of Manipur are required to be held responsible for this condemned act. This is not limited to Manipur alone. In our country, women's safety questions are getting more and more controversial with time, which requires an end.

Suggestions need to be considered 

This incident didn't only harm the tribal women; it also harmed the tribal vulnerable minorities. This is the fundamental right of each and every one, irrespective of gender, religion, caste, or creed, to live life with dignity, and the Manipur Act breaches Article 21. Primarily. The Koki tribe must be given tribal status, and compensation should be provided to victims. A woman who is in a traumatic state and her mother who has been paraded are required to be provided land or compensation, and most importantly, criminals who were involved in the parade and rape of these two women specifically should get captain punishment for such offensive acts. There are strict requirements for women's safety laws in Manipur and in all 28 states and 8 union territories of India. There must be harsh laws implied in the country for making India safer for both genders equally.

हमारे देश को किसी भी तरह इस सवाल का सामना करना पड़ता है कि क्या इस क्रूर दुनिया में एक महिला वास्तव में सुरक्षित है?चिं ता की बात ये नहीं है कि एक महिला खुद को कैसे बचा सकती है, बल्कि चिंता की बात ये है कि चाहे दिन हो या रात, एक महिला अपने आसपास ही सुरक्षित महसूस नहीं कर पाती. किसी महिला को दिन के उजाले में नग्न कर उसके साथ बलात्कार कैसे किया जा सकता है? जब कोई समूह इस तरह के कदाचार में शामिल हो तो उसे अपना बचाव कैसे करना चाहिए? हो सकता है कि हमारा देश महिलाओं के सम्मान की पुरानी परंपरा को भूल गया हो, या हमें यह याद दिलाने की जरूरत है कि प्राचीन काल में महिलाओं के साथ कैसा व्यवहार किया जाता था।

शर्मसार करने वाली घटना

 खबरों में बताया गया है कि इस निंदनीय कार्रवाई के पीछे का कारण मणिपुर के दो गांवों के बीच सांस्कृतिक मतभेद है और एक हथियारबंद भीड़ ने मणिपुर के कांगोपकी जिले के एक गांव पर हमला कर दिया. असंख्य घर लूट लिये गये। और अधिकांश महिलाओं के साथ बलात्कार किया गया। ऐसी कई महिलाएँ थीं जिनके साथ बलात्कार किया गया और उनकी हत्या कर दी गई। उसी दिन, कुछ अपराधियों ने दो नग्न महिलाओं का वीडियो शूट किया, जिन्हें नग्न अवस्था में घुमाया गया और उनमें से एक के साथ भीड़ ने बलात्कार किया। यह बताया गया कि 9000-10000 भीड़ के पास खतरनाक हथियार थे। 

घटना के पीछे कारण क्या थे? 

 कुकियों के बीच तनाव था जो मेइतीस से आधिकारिक आदिवासी दर्जे की मांग कर रहे थे। यह आदिवासी दर्जा कुकी जनजाति को सरकार को प्रभावित करने में मदद करेगा और कुकी जनजाति को कुकी क्षेत्र में जमीन खरीदने की अनुमति देगा। मेतिस द्वारा छेड़े गए युद्ध के कारण सरकार को उनके समुदायों को उखाड़ फेंकना पड़ा। यह तनाव धर्म से अधिक जातीयता पर आधारित है।

 मणिपुर सरकार का नेतृत्व एन बोरेन सिघ कर रहे हैं और विरोध के समय कोई कार्रवाई नहीं हुई थी। कोई पुलिस तैनाती की व्यवस्था नहीं की गई थी. यह भी माना जाता है कि पुलिस को इतनी बड़ी त्रासदी की जानकारी थी, लेकिन उनकी गैर-जिम्मेदारी भरी कार्रवाई की भी निंदा की जाती है।

चुप्पी को तोड़ने की आवश्यकता 

 यह घटना कई सवालों को सामने लाती है, जिसमें यह भी शामिल है कि जनता की सुरक्षा के उपाय, मुख्य रूप से पुलिस और सरकार, कुछ दिनों तक चुप क्यों थे।

 इस खबर को समाचार चैनलों के माध्यम से क्यों नहीं दर्शाया गया? केवल महिलाओं को ही इतनी क्रूरता से क्यों निशाना बनाया गया? यह मामला मणिपुर का नहीं है; यह मामला हर महिला की अस्मिता का सवाल उठाता है.

 भारत के माननीय प्रधान मंत्री ने हाल ही में 4 मई की त्रासदी के बाद अपनी चुप्पी तोड़ी। यह दिन मेरे लिए लाल दिन है क्योंकि यह महिलाओं की गरिमा को खत्म करता है।'

 लोग देश भर में विरोध प्रदर्शन कर रहे हैं और मणिपुर की महिलाओं के लिए न्याय की मांग कर रहे हैं। ऐसी कई महिलाएं थीं जिनके साथ बलात्कार किया गया और उनकी हत्या कर दी गई और यह विरोध प्रदर्शन उनके लिए न्याय की मांग कर रहा है। इस बार का न्याय दोषियों की आजीवन कारावास की सज़ा का नहीं बल्कि इस निंदनीय कृत्य के लिए मणिपुर के सभी प्रशासनों को जिम्मेदार ठहराने का न्याय है। ये बात सिर्फ मणिपुर तक ही सीमित नहीं है. हमारे देश में महिला सुरक्षा के सवाल समय के साथ और भी विवादास्पद होते जा रहे हैं, जिसका अंत जरूरी है।

सुझाव वा नई दिशा 

 इस घटना ने केवल आदिवासी महिलाओं को ही नुकसान नहीं पहुंचाया; इसने आदिवासी कमजोर अल्पसंख्यकों को भी नुकसान पहुंचाया। लिंग, धर्म, जाति या पंथ के बावजूद, सम्मान के साथ जीवन जीना हर किसी का मौलिक अधिकार है और मणिपुर अधिनियम मुख्य रूप से अनुच्छेद 21 का उल्लंघन करता है। कोकी जनजाति को आदिवासी का दर्जा दिया जाए और पीड़ितों को मुआवजा दिया जाए। एक महिला जो सदमे की स्थिति में है और उसकी मां, जिसकी परेड कराई गई है, को जमीन या मुआवजा दिया जाना आवश्यक है, और सबसे महत्वपूर्ण बात यह है कि जो अपराधी इन दोनों महिलाओं की परेड और बलात्कार में शामिल थे, उन्हें विशेष रूप से ऐसे आक्रामक कृत्यों के लिए कैप्टन की सजा मिलनी चाहिए। मणिपुर और भारत के सभी 28 राज्यों और 8 केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों में महिला सुरक्षा कानूनों की सख्त आवश्यकताएं हैं। भारत को दोनों लिंगों के लिए समान रूप से सुरक्षित बनाने के लिए देश में कठोर कानून लागू होने चाहिए
